Kundapur: Alva's cultural glory celebrated in 'Samskritika Vaibhava'

Kundapur, Jan 2: “'Alva's Samskritika Vaibhava' or Alva's Cultural Glory recognized all over the country is a crown to this part of the country well known for its art and culture,” said Alva's Nudisiri Virasat Kundapur unit honorary president Appanna Hegde.

He spoke after inaugurating 'Alvas Samskritika Vaibhava' jointly held by Basruru old students association and Alva's Nudisiri unit Kundapur. “Several people have worked for the establishment of Basrur High school which has produced many well known personalities. It is necessary to remember them at this juncture,” he said.

Entrepreneur Ananda C Kunder speaking on the occasion said that the programme is being held within and outside the country to spread the culture of the land. Kundapur unit has held the programme six times showing its true enthusiasm. Youth should proceed following genuine Indian Sanatana culture. Kannada medium schools should be converted and strengthened as per the situation. Poor students studying till the tenth standard here will be provided study material by Alva's Prathistana,” he said. K V Balachandra Shetty who presided over the programme speaking on the occasion said that elders in the town should construct an auditorium here taking old students into confidence. “All should help in the cause.”

Venkatesh Puranik, who secured fourth position in the state and first in the district, was felicitated on the occasion. Yogish Acharya welcomed everyone. Rajendra Shettigara proposed the vote of thanks. Lecturer Madhava Adiga compered the programme.

Basrur grama panchayat president Santhosh Kumar, Basrur government high school headmaster Jyothi, entrepreneur Udayakumar Shetty, Basrur Ganesh Padiar, entrepreneur Abdul Munaf, Subrahmanya Shetty, Alvas Kundapur unit president Dr Umesh Putran and others were present.
