Kundapur: Head-on collision between vehicles - driver loses life

Kundapur, Jan 9: In an accident which occurred late night on Sunday January 8 near Kannukere, Tekkatte in the taluk, two cars got involved in a head-on collision. The accident accounted for the life of the ill-fated driver of Maruti WagonR, one of the two vehicles involved.


Fortuner and WagonR cars were involved in the accident which happened on national highway 66. The driver who died in the accident was Kerala-based Shibu (36).

The Fortuner vehicle was moving towards Mangaluru from Pune, while the WagonR was bound to a destination in the direction of the town from Kerala. It is said that the WagonR that was moving at high speed suddenly moved to its extreme right, jumped over the road divider and landed on the wrong side of the road before hitting the Fortuner vehicle moving in that lane.

A case about the accident was registered at Kota police station.
