Udupi: Two end lives in separate incidents

Udupi, Jan 11: A senior citizen, identified as Raju Moolya (70), resident of Padubettu House in Pernankila village near here had tried to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance on Monday January 9. He had been admitted into the district government hospital at Ajjarkad here for treatment. But, without responding to treatments, he breathed his last the same night.

Moolya, who had been living in the house of his younger sister since the last seven years, was suffering from high blood pressure. It is learnt that he was frustrated at the fact that his health problems were not showing signs of improvement in spite of treatments obtained. A case about this suicide was registered in Hiriyadka police station.

Vivek (29) from Pakkibettu in Nallur village in Karkala taluk hanged himself on Tuesday January 10. No reasons could be immediately attributed to his abrupt decision to kill himself. A case about this suicide was lodged in the rural police station at Karkala.
