Mangaluru, Jan 13: Ullal police have taken into custody Uchila residents Guru (25) and John (30), suspects of a deadly assault on a youth near Peribail, Uchila. When Iqbal and Mansoor had come to Uchila seashore to play volleyball, a group of six men who had come on two bikes assaulted Iqbal and severely injured him.
Guru and his girlfriend had come for a stroll to Uchila seashore on January 11. Iqbal who was playing volleyball nearby insulted and hurled expletives on them. When Guru who got annoyed came to question Iqbal, Iqbal and his group threatened him and sent him back. Guru who wanted to avenge the insult came with John and four others and grievously assaulted Iqbal.
Iqbal is recovering at Deralakatte hospital. The tense situation in Uchila has been diluted with the arrest of the two men.
