Koppal, Mar 6: A police sub-inspector ended his life at the police residential quarters in the town on Sunday March 5. He has been identified as T Shashidhar (59) of police wireless division.
Shashidhar's son, Ajai Kumar, a doctor by profession, had committed suicide in 2015. Shashidhar was in deep depression since the death of his son. A feeling of helplessness was also playing on his mind on account of throat cancer from which he had been suffering since the last few years.
Shashidhar, who was just a year away from retirement, hanged himself at his residential quarters when no one was around. A case relating to this incident was registered at the town police station here.
