Mangaluru: Reckless driver injures pedestrian, decamps after dropping him at hospital

Mangaluru, Mar 9: In an incident which happened in the city on Tuesday March 7, a reckless driver who caused serious injuries to a pedestrian who was crossing the road, left the victim high and dry after dropping him off at a hospital.

The accident had happened on the road between Karnataka Polytechnic and Battagudde. The injured pedestrian has been identified as Sandeep. However, as he is unable to speak as of now, his address and other details could not be ascertained.

After the car in question came at high speed and hit him, Sandeep was injured. The car driver, who took him to A J Hospital and admitted him there, escaped without providing any details to the police personnel, said staff of city (east) traffic police station.

The injured man was provided initial treatment at A J Hospital before being shifted to Wenlock Hospital. The car in question reportedly bore registration number starting from KA19, and the police personnel have begun operations to identify the car.

    Such a reckless driver must be catched at any rate and punish him.Did noone notice the accident and can give evidence?why escape after a person is injured.?Not a responsible person,no heart.Hope he will recover fast and can be identified.His people at home might miss him and go to police I hope.otherwise in wenlock hospital he will remain as a number.

    CCTV will help the police in solving this case. Sooner or later the reckless driver who injured the pedestrian will be found.

    CCTV is installed all over AJ hospital. If police make -up their mind he may be caught with 24hrs
