Bhatkal, Mar 13: Minister for large and medium industries and infrastructure development, R V Deshpande, claimed that the new industrial policy adopted by the state happens to be the most ideal among all the states of India. He also said that lot of new jobs have been created due to industrial development happening in Karnataka on account of industrial progress.

Deshpande spoke after inaugurating the infrastructure development works at the industrial area of the taluk located at Sarpanakatte here. "We give sites to entrepreneurs to develop industries, not to sell their sites and earn money. We want more industries to be established in industrial areas. With the growth of industries in the industrial area, the government wants more and more jobs to be created. I will obtain information about the current position of all the industrial areas in the district within three days and take steps to improve them," he added.

He stated that this fund would be used for asphalting of existing roads, laying of new roads and building of drains. "We also have given impetus to small scale industries and cottage industries. Women and people belonging to scheduled castes and tribes should reap the benefit of the government's schemes. In the segment of tourism development too, we have made much headway in this district. Over Rs 2.5 crore has been provided for tourism development at Murudeshwar. I want other tourism spots in the district to develop like Murudeshwar," he explained.
