Mangaluru: Heart-broken at scoring low, ninth standard student hangs himself

Mangaluru, May 5: A teenager, who was frustrated at the fact that he had secured far less marks than what he had expected, hanged himself on Thursday May 4.

The boy in question, Yatish (15), was a resident of Kalladi, Kuppepadavu near here. He was a ninth standard high school student of Kuppepadavu. It is said that he was pained on finding during the recent publication of the result that he had not fared as expected in the examination, and his marks were lower than what he had expected.

It is said that on Thursday morning, he had spoken to his friends and agreed with them to take part in a mehndi programme being held in the village. However, in the afternoon, he suddenly committed suicide by hanging himself.

A complaint about the incident was lodged at Bajpe police station.

    My God ,suecide cases are increased between the students.Otherside is it not our school system should be looked after ?How many times when the results comeout,many students get low marks than expected,which later when corrected,show good ones.Doe s it cause many times to students heartbroken ,see no scope to come further to study or work.So this student could have instead of committing suecide,could have applied for correction again.Parents should look into this matter.Not justignore childrens worrys.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.
