Bengaluru: Angry Eshwarappa likely to skip BJP state executive

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 5: As per reports, Eshwarappa has decided not to attend the state executive of BJP scheduled to be held at Mysuru on May 6 and 7 unless ousted vice presidents Bhanuprakash and Nirmalkumar Surana are reinstated. Eshwarappa has also been insistent on conducting the meeting of a committee formed in January this year by the national leadership to sort out differences. This decision is likely to aggravate the already volatile situation prevailing in the party.

A number of party leaders who are neutral, wanted differences to be addressed before the executive meeting begins, as otherwise the meeting might turn into a battlefield for warring factions. Although efforts were made in this direction, factions remained committed to their stands. As of now, it feels that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders and national president of BJP, Amit Shah, can alone hear the grievances and settle the differences.

RSS leaders are hurt at the attack made against national joint organizing secretary of BJP, Santosh, as they feel that this in turn, can be deemed as an attack on RSS itself. At the same time, some others are of the opinion that Santosh was not right in trying to throw his weight behind anti-Yeddyurappa faction instead of remaining neutral.

Yeddyurappa faction says that in addition to the above two party vice presidents, two more were also relieved of their responsibilities and that this decision was taken in consultation by party in-charge, Muralidhar Rao, with national organizing secretary of the party, Ramlal, and president, Amit Shah, and hence there is no question of reversing this decision. It is said that Ramlal has already asked Mukund, who has been given responsibility of coordination between RSS and BJP in the state, to provide information on the conflict between RSS and Yeddyurappa. Mukund has already talked to many leaders and he might send his report containing findings shortly.

It is said that RSS leaders are unhappy with Yeddyurappa as he gives his nod to all suggestions made by the organization and then takes unilateral decisions at his own whims. The Sangh is also angry at Eshwarappa faction, as well as Bhanuprakash and Surana for violating its advice against organizing 'Save BJP' convention.
