Bengaluru: JD(S) youth to take up 'Kumaranna for Karnataka' campaign

Bengaluru, May 7 (DHNS): The JD(S) youth wing on Saturday decided to take up the “Kumaranna for Karnataka” campaign soon as part of its effort to strengthen the party ahead of the 2018 Assembly elections.

JD(S) youth wing president Madhu Bangarappa said the two national parties have badly let down the state on all issues. Only the JD(S) can protect the interests of the state. The party’s youth wing will educate people on the achievements of state party president H D Kumaraswamy during his tenure as the chief minister. Many party workers refer to Kumaraswamy as “Kumaranna” out of respect.

Madhu Bangarappa was speaking after inaugurating the state executive committee meeting of the JD(S) youth wing at the party office. The executive committee decided to urge Kumaraswamy to give priority to young leaders while distributing party tickets for the Assembly elections to be held next year.

Madhu Bangarappa further said the BJP leaders in the state are involved in a bitter feud. It is impossible for the saffron party to come to power. Its leaders are under the illusion that their party will win the elections. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah of neglecting the state. “They have no right to talk about the state.”
