Mangaluru, May 8: A man, who reportedly was suffering from depression, committed suicide by hanging himself from a cashew tree on Sunday May 7. The incident happened near Devandapadpu Vorkady Lord Mahavishnu tmeple.

The man who took away his life in this fashion has been identified as Sudhama (42), working as a truck driver. He was residing at a rented home owned by Thomas from Devandapadpu. Sudhama was the native of Vittal Adyanadka. As per reports, he was going through a period of depression since about two months.

Sudhama was taking a nap after lunch on Sunday. He suddenly got up after some time, and told his wife that he would be leaving for the nearby hillock to collect firewood. He left, asking his wife to come to the hillock after some time to help him. His wife went there after some gap, and found that her husband's body was hanging from a tree.

The deceased is survived by a wife, a son, and a daughter. A case in this respect was registered at Konaje police station.
