Mangaluru: 'Karnataka Kaushalya Yojane' to launch at Townhall on May 15

Mangaluru, May 11: The inauguration of 'Karnataka Kaushalya Yojane', a state government project mentioned in the recent state budget, will be held on Monday, May 15 at Bengaluru. As part of this programme, a district-level inauguration will be organised on the same day at Town hall at 11:00 am.

"70% of the state's youth will get employment under this project. There is a 20% reservation for ST candidates, 7% for SCs and 15% for OBCs," Rai informed.

Giving details of the project, at a press meet at deputy commissioner's office, here on Thursday, May 11, the district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai said, "The 'Karnataka Kaushalya Yojane', designed especially for the unemployed youth between ages 18 and 35, will provide skill training to unemployed youth. Those within the suggested age criteria will be eligible to register for the programme. Applications can be filled at the web portal kaushalkar.com. 39 different subjects are available for the training. These include courses for assistant network superior, insurance agent, fitting, and nursery manager. Registration for the same will start on May 15. The registration camp has been organised for 12 days and would be depending on the demand. Interested candidates can apply online through a cyber cafe, on the mobile app or at placement centres," he added.

"Applicants need to have their Aadhar number and a residential confirmation certificate through ration card or voter ID card. The application will have a few questions including, the period of training the applicant would like to undergo, and expectation of salary.This training will help a lot to the youth who want to go tp the gulf for employment," Rai added.

Answering questions on Kasturirangan report Rai said, "This issue is handled by the central government. We are not supporting the report as it is. We have requested and suggested many changes to it. Yet, the central government did not make any changes in the draft which we received."
