Bengaluru, May 13: Police personnel of Jayanagara station in the city have arrested two persons, who have been accused of murdering Suresh Poojary alias Golden Suresh, a rowdy sheeter of Koteshwara origin in Udupi district. The police also have taken into custody three more suspects.

The arrested men have been identified as Rakesh and Suresh from Bilekalli village.

It is gathered that Suresh and the accused were close friends. Suresh had borrowed four crore rupees from certain sources at the instance of the duo. However, he dithered from repaying the loan in time. When his friends brought pressure on him to repay the borrowed amount, he attacked them.

Angered by this attitude, the friends of Golden Suresh visited an apartment belonging to Suresh at Jayanagara here in the guise of partying on Tuesday night and eliminated him, police sources stated.

The accused had added sleeping pills to the drinks provided to Suresh. Once Suresh got fully drunk and sleepy, they plastered his mouth and suffocated him. They then slit his throat. By the time they wiped the apartment clean of the blood stains, it was next morning. As they felt that it would be difficult to shift the body without getting noticed, they left the body behind, police personnel stated.
