M'luru: Nurses Day celebrated at KS Hegde Hospital, selflessness remembered

Mangaluru, May 13: Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences and Justice K S Hegde Hospital, Deralakatte, jointly celebrated Nurses Day in the hospital, marking the birthday of Florence Nightingale, on Friday May 12.

The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp.

Registrar of KSHEMA, Dr Jayaprakash Shetty was the chief guest of the programme. He rendered a floral tribute to Florence Nightingale by garlanding the portrait. In his message, he appreciated the selfless service rendered by the nurses.

On behalf of the management, the medical superintendent Dr Major Shivakumar Hiremath honoured the nurses for their outstanding performance.  Lalitha, Jayanthi, Janaki, Mary and Jacintha were the nurses presented with the Nurse Excellence Awards.

The senior nurses of the hospital shared their experiences with the media. Pavithra, assistant lecturer at the Nursing College, welcomed the gathering. Swathi, an assistant lecturer, compered the programme and thanked the gathering.

Vice-dean Dr Prakash, assistant medical superintendent Dr Muraleedar Pai, nursing superintendent Shirly Lucas, clinical coordiantor Dr Jacintha Veigas, were present on occasion.
