Mangaluru, May 30: State minister for planning, statistics, science and technology and Kodagu district in-charge minister, M R Seetharam, warned that the grants and works entrusted to Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Corporation (Land Army Corporation) will be taken back if the corporation fails to complete works allotted to it within the time frame.

Speaking at a progress review meeting on legislators local area development fund and Coastal Development Authority, he said that he has received lot of complaints about the functioning style of Land Army. "Because of delay in execution of works by Land Army, grants are turning redundant. We are thinking of getting all the works done through PWD or engineering departments of zilla panchayats," he stated. He also asked the corporation to complete all pending works of Coastal Development Authority before September 1.

MLA, B A Mohiuddin Bava, speaking on the occasion, noted that Land Army to which the work of building toilet for Muttoor Government College costing Rs 50 lac had been entrusted, is yet to begin work. He stated that students of the college are facing lot of inconvenience due to this delay.

MLA, J R Lobo, urged the concerned to begin sky walk work near Town Hall at the earliest. Sharada Shetty of Coastal Development Authority and deputy commissioner of the district, Dr K G Jagadeesh, were present.
