Mangaluru, May 30: The muhurat of ‘Konkani Darshan’ a one and a half hour song and dance presentation, depicting Konkani's history and cultural variety, was held on Sunday, May 28. The muhurat took place at the concluding ceremony of the 3-day residential dance workshop 'Nach-Nritya-Dance', conducted by Nach Sobhann, in association with Mandd Sobhann

Eminent trainers trained the 32 participants in the various forms of dancing. Elton Mascarenhas taught Bollywood dance, Rami Nair taught Samba and Bachata, Vidushi Vani Rajagopal taught Bharatnatyam, and Eric Ozario taught Konkani dance forms.

Pramod Alva, dancer, dance director and choreographer of ‘India’s Got Talent’ held the muhurat by displaying the teaser prepared by Ashith Pinto, Dubai. Pramod will direct the 20 dance performances at ‘Konkani Darshan’.

This show involves live dancing by the Nach Sobhann artistes in the fore, as a story unfolds through a movie projected in the background. Harry Fernandes, successful movie director of ‘Noshibacho Khell’ and ‘Sophiya’, and many other Bhojpuri and Marathi movies, will handle the  movie section. ‘Sangeet Guru’  Joel Pereira will work on the storyline and be in charge of the musical elements. He will be assisted by ‘Vishwa Konkani Kala Ratn’ Eric Ozario. The background music will be handled by Guitar Maestro Alwyn Fernandes.

The big budget show will take 6 months to produce. The first show is scheduled at Kalaangann, on January 7, at the 193rd Monthly Theatre, after which roadshows of the same will be presented in India and abroad.
