Udupi, May 31: “The Congress party is preparing for elections in the state after being scared of the strategy of BJP. Whereas BJP is prepared to face elections any time,” said BJP Udupi district president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde.

He was speaking after inaugurating the fourth executive of BJP in Kaup Adishakthi Veerabhadra temple auditorium on May 30.

“Yearlong programmes are held in view of the centenary of Pandith Deen Dayal Upadhyay. Therefore, a group of 200 people from every Vidhan Sabha constituency will be going to another constituency. Work on organising the party for the next elections will be conducted there. The work towards organising the party in the district under the leadership of BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa will be held on June 21. Party workers should help in the preparations for the elections,” he said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a bold step by implementing ban on cow slaughter, thereby making the dream of Grama Rajya–Rama Rajya seen by Gandhiji a reality. The Congress party by opposing it, works against the principles of Gandhiji,” he said.

BJP Kaup constituency president Prakash Shetty Padebettu presided over the programme.

BJP state secretary Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge Udaya Kumar Shetty, former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Udupi Zilla panchayat president Dinaker Babu, state executive member Shamala Kunder, BJP district chief secretary Yashpal A Suvarna, Sandhya Ramesh, Women’s Morcha state secretary Geethanjali M Suvarna and district spokesperson Katpadi Shanker Poojary were on the dais.

BJP district vice president, Kaup constituency in-charge Suresh Shetty Gurme delivered the keynote address. BJP block vice-president Navin S K welcomed the gathering. Block chief secretary K Muraleedhar Pai compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
