Bengaluru, Jun 3: Three top officials of the state got reprieve from the court and government on Friday June 2. They happen to be senior IAS officer, Ganga Ram Baderiya, state highway project's former chief planning officer, S C Jayachandra and former managing director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd, Chikkarayappa.

Baderiya, who was arrested by the officials of Special Investigation Team relating to irregularities in sanctioning illegal mining contract to Jantakal Mines and was in judicial custody, was granted conditional bail by the Lokayukta special court.

The state government has withdrawn the suspensions of S C Jayachandra and T N Chikkarayappa, who were suspended after unaccounted money in newly issued currency notes running into crores of rupees were recovered from them and suspicions had arisen that they were helping black money hoarders and also accumulated unaccounted wealth. The government has taken a decision to withdraw their suspensions even before the income tax department has concluded its investigation.
