Mangaluru, Jun 3: Police from Bajpe station arrested two persons from near the IT Park at Ganjimath in the outskirts of the city on Friday June 2. One among them happens to be the student of an engineering college. Two others managed to escape.

The arrested student has been identified as Muhammed Ashwad (23), resident of Talangere in Kasargod. The other is Ajmal (20), from Malali Bhatrakere. A motor bike, a scooter and 95 gram ganja worth Rs 61,500 were confiscated from their possession.

After they were tipped by reliable sources about ganja sale being carried out, the personnel of Bajpe station had raided the spot. Two persons ran away at the time of the raid. It is said that Ashwad used to collect ganja from the two persons who fled during the raid, and sell the same inside the college campus.

A case about ganja trafficking stands registered at Bajpe polcie station. Both the accused were produced in court whereupon they were remanded to judicial custody. The policemen are searching for the two other accused who are at large now.
