Puttur: Nagging ill health - lecturer's wife ends life

Puttur, Jun 5: A lecturer's wife living in Kemmayi within the limits of Chikkamudnur village in the outskirts of the town, committed suicide on Sunday June 4 morning.

The woman who chose to kill herself was Gangaratna (48), wife of U Narayana Baipadithaya, residing near Lord Vishnumurthy temple in Kemmayi, Chikkamudnur. Baipadithaya is a lecturer of Srinivas Engineering College at Valachil.

It is said that Gangaratna had been suffering from psychological disorder since sometime. Although she was undergoing treatment for the problem, she did not get the relief she expected out of it. Reportedly, she was depressed over this situation. Overcome by frustration at her health condition, Gangaratna hanged herself on Sunday morning.
