Chikkamagaluru: Tamil Nadu student drowns at Sringeri

Chikkamagaluru, Jun 5: Out of four students who ventured into Tunga river at Sringeri in the district on Sunday June 4 for taking bath, one met a watery grave. The victim has been identified as Ashwan Srinivas (16), son of Surulinathan, currently serving in the police department of Tamil Nadu and posted at Bodiyayakanur.

Ashwan was on a visit of a relative at Mangaluru. He came to Sringeri with three others. All the four went to swim in Tunga river during the visit, but Ashwan was dragged away due to the force of the water.

It is gathered that Ashwan had cleared SSLC examination this year with excellent marks.
