Mangaluru, Jun 5: "Just because one is poor, he should not cultivate the habit of stretching his palms for alms frequently. They should function within the framework of guidelines and values preached by Islam and lead their lives as per the preaching of the Prophet," said president of Ullal Syed Madani Dargah, Abdul Rashid.
He was spoke after participating in a mega rice distribution programme organized at the office of Ullal Central Committee Trust at Ullal Mastikatte office on Sunday June 4. The programme was planned on account of Ramzan.
Abdul Rashid also reminded the people that an organization emerges with the coming together of several individuals. He noted that the trust, which has grown by winning over the trust and cooperation of local people, has succeeded in extending assistance to people of different classes in various ways.
Vice president of the trust, Muhammed Twaha, who presided over the pgoramme, said that the trust has been successfully responding to the problems faced by the people since the last six years. He said that it will continue to support more and more persons in future with the cooperation of people.
Ahmed Bava Kumble participated as chief guest. U M Ismail Shafi Babbukatte, A Khader, U H Siddique and Abdul Salam were present.
Trust treasurer, Ahmed Bava Kottara welcomed everyone. U K Muhammed Mustafa, delivered the introductory address. H Ismail Shafi proposed the vote of thanks.
Rice was distributed to about 150 families on the occasion.
