Kasargod, Jun 5: A person was killed after a truck hit him on the night of Saturday June 3. A K Mahmood (65), a senior Muslim League activist from Kuniya in the district, was returning home in his motor bike after offering namaz at a mosque when a lorry knocked him down. Mehmood was a native of Kundoor.
The accident happened opposite government VHS at Kuniya. The victim had offered namaz at Khilar jumma masjid, Kuniya, and was on his return home when a truck that was moving towards Kanhangad hit him from behind. Mehmood fell on the road, immediately after which the truck moved over his body, killing him on the spot.
Mehmood is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters.
