Beltangady, Jun 6: In an accident which occurred near Panakaje in the taluk on the evening of Monday June 5, the rider of a motor bike was killed after being hit by a truck.  The deceased has been identified as Nonaiah (35), residing at Gardady Kelaginaguthu near Padangady.

Nonaiah eked out a living by working as mason. He has left behind wife and two sons.

Nonaiah was moving  towards his home from Madantyar when a truck being driven towards Madandyar from the direction of Guruvayanakere came in contact with the motor bike. The bike rider lost his balance after the truck hit his vehicle, when the bus following his vehicle hit him. Injured Nonaiah, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was carried to a hospital by passersby with help from locals. However, he did not survive the jounry to hospital.

Case against the drivers of truck and bus was registered in Punjalkatte police station.
