Udupi: Bus knocks down man while crossing road at Heroor, succumbs in hospital

Udupi, June 9: An unidentified man was knocked down while crossing the road by a speeding bus near Herooru on NH 66, on Friday, June 9. He succumbed to his injuries later at Hi-tech Hospital near Ambalpady. The man aged approximately 50 years hailed from Hariharapura.

The bus belonging to Durgamba company was on its way from Kundapur to Udupi. It was driven by driver Ramesh.

Locals who identified the victim of the accident said that they have seen the man consume liquor last night. Police suspect that he might have committed suicide with adverse effect of alcohol.

The man was wearing a white shirt and cream coloured pant. He also wore a thread that is usually worn by Brahmins. The exact details of the victim are yet to be known.
