Kundapur, Jun 12: “Dalit leaders instead of allowing closure of the case regarding to cattle slaughter said to have occurred in a Koraga community household at Movadi are making innocent students scapegoats. A conference against anti social elements who are recreating a case that was over and axing the future of students will be held by Dalit Sangharsha Samiti Movadi gram branch at Movadi on June 12,” said Vasudev Mudoor, district convener of the organization at a news conference held at Kundapur Press Club on Saturday June 10.

“Incidents of misusing Dalits are occurring everywhere. People of all religions and castes are living in harmony at Movadi. Police are present to take action against those who took law into their hands in the case of cattle slaughter. Meanwhile Dalit Sangharsha Samiti does not allow the case to be used for personal benefit. In the circumstances, the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti opposes Movadi Chalo programme held with political motive,” he said.

Manjunath Giliyar, advocate and chief district convener said that an attempt to divide and rule is being adopted by involving three innocent Dalit students. It is regrettable that some people claiming to be Dalit leaders are supporting the move. We have to tell them through the organization. The conference at Movadi on June 12 is being held for the purpose,” he said.

Dalit Sangharsha Samiti leaders Raju Bettinamane, Gopala Nada, Gopala Kalanje, Prabhaker Movadi and others were present.
