Bantwal, Jun 16: M Venkatesh, Mangaluru divisional traffic officer of KSRTC assured that additional KSRTC buses would be introduced on Dharmastala route in the mornings and evenings during peak hours to tide over the rush. He was speaking at the KSRTC taluk level ‘Kundu Korathe Sabhe’, here,  on Thursday, June 15.

The meeting was a public redressal and a means to know lapses of  KSRTC services at KSRTC B C Road unit of Puttur division.

Responding to a written complaint by a person in the gathering, he said that he would hold discussions with higher officials about running buses from B C Road depot upto Madanthyar in the mornings and the evenings. “KSRTC is providing excellent service in the rural area these days. Most of the needs for buses are fulfilled. Some of the small problems will be solved. In the olden days, there was talk about the buses arriving a day later than the scheduled day. However, the improvement in punctuality by KSRTC buses now is praiseworthy,” opined a passenger.

“Permanent stickers will be fixed in the front and back of buses for the convenience of passengers. I can be contacted in person or by phone if there are any problems,” said Venkatesh.

“Additional buses should be introduced on Vitla-Alike route from Puttur. Similarly, Vitla-Alike buses should be extended up to Bairikatte. Alike-Bengaluru Vegadoot bus should be started again. Senior citizens should be issued identity cards at B C Road depot,” were some of the several demands by people in the meeting.

The officials received suggestions till the evening.

B C Road depot in charge officer Jayaker Shetty, B C Road depot manager P Ismail and assistant officer Ramesh Shetty Vamadapadav were present.
