Karkal: Police recover gun, powder used for shooting Ravindra Naik

Karkal, Jun 17: Ajekar station police retrieved the gun and traces of the gunpowder utilised to shoot and kill Ravindra Naik in Kadthala Paljeddu reserve forest from arrested murder suspects Sunder Naik (45), Jeetu Naik (25) and Aithu Naik (65).

The deceased Ravindra Naik (28), a resident of Ajekar had gone with Krishnakanth, Udaya Naik, Santhosh Poojary and Nithesh to chop trees at Pal Jeddu forest in the Ajekar police station limits at night on June 14.

Ravindra Naik was shot and injured that night.

Though his companions took him to Manipal hospital soon after, he died without responding to treatment.

A case was registered in Ajekar police station on the basis of a complaint by Krishnakanth, a resident of Muniyalu.
