Mangaluru, Jul 5: Reportedly, a farmer from Madantyar started to receive frequent messages. Out of curiosity, he sent replies to a couple of messages but stopped after realizing that a drugs mafia could be behind this act. The farmer said he will cooperate with police department if it takes interest to investigate this matter.

There is growing suspicion that drugs mafia has been systematically functioning to trap innocent local people in its operations by extending lure of high income with minimal effort. Messages sent through Facebook (FB) and WhatsApp which say that people interested in delivering products to addressees can make lot of money give rise to the notion that drugs mafia could be behind them. People can unknowingly become a part of the drug mafia if they are overtaken by the desire to make quick bucks and follow instructions coming through FB and WhatsApp.

It is said that the normal practice of the cartel is to send friends request on FB in the name of a lady. Thereafter the lady writes about herself and in course of time, offers an opportunity to make good money, duly inviting the other person to work as middleman for a factory to deliver raw materials. Once the person agrees, they obtain his cellphone number and begin sending WhatsApp messages, it is said. They explain the rules, and obtain house address.

The work involves collection of small packets from company agents and delivering them to persons notified by them. For this remuneration is unusually high. They describe the items inside the sachets to be containing raw materials meant for use in preparation of medicines for pigs, dogs, etc. They also claim the raw materials to have been made of plants.

If they are normal goods, there is no need for middlemen. They can easily be sent through authorized channels. It is certain that those who fall prey to the desire to make money quickly will get trapped in drugs mafia.

Suddenly everything is stopped reporting just because CONGiss took over from Akali Dal.... Do you think drug dealers and addicts stopped their usual business or consuming drugs??? Same thing in Karnataka too in major cities....and I am sure....no such NGOs', few News Channels will report this kind of mafia....just because our State is being ruled by their favoured Party.....
