Moodbidri: Kavya's death - People support Mohan Alva, plan massive rally on Aug 12

Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Aug 4: At a time when a systematic onslaught against chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, M Mohan Alva, is going on im some media, relating to the death of Kavya, a SSLC student, at a hostel room at Moodbidri, a large number of people have been pooling support against this campaign which they have been terming as malicious. The supporters of Alva have been mustering people who are backing Alva at this cruciall juncture. Former minister, K Amarnath Shetty said that a twin-district level mega meeting of people who wholeheartedly support Mohan Alva will be held at 2.30 pm on August 12 at Padmavathi Kala Mandir in the town. He said that about 5,000 people are expected to congregate at the meeting.

At the preliminary meeting held at Moodbidri Cooperative Service Bank hall on Thursday August 3, people from the town and surrounding areas, overlooking differences of castes, religion, class and party, announced their unstinted support for Alva. They expressed worries about the character assassination of Dr Alva and his educational institutions resulting out of vilification campaign being carried on without any basis.

Dr Mohan Alva

MLA, K Abhay Chandra, in his address, concurred that expressing condolence at student, Kavya's death, happens to be the duty of everyone. He felt that at the same time, it is also the duty of every individual to see that the stature and standing of Dr Alva, who has taken the area to dizzying heights in the fields of education, art, literature and sports, and his institutions, are not dented. He felt that a time has come in which the society has to take up the task of teaching what are freedom of expression and freedom of media.

Entrepreneur, Narayana P M, remembering about repeated claims of Mohan Alva that he is devoid of any enemies, noted that Alva is now worried about some perverted minds ganging up against him. He felt that behaving in an arbitrary manner and uttering words at will without any reasoning is inhuman, and it is the responsibility of the society to ensure that the environment in the town which has always been harmonious, is retained. President of Dakshina Kannada district Krishik Samaj, Sampath Samrajya, said that at a time when no one is coming forward to do social service because of polluted minds, Dr Mohan Alva, who has shown the will and skill to render social service, is badly in need of popular support now. He exhorted people to back Alva in unison.

Entrepreneur, Abulal Puthige, artist and cultural ambassador, Kadri Navneeth Shetty too came in full support of Alva, pointing out that because of glamorization of incidents by some visual media, Alva is going through a period of pain and stress. They hailed Alva for leading 26,000 students towards a bright future through discipline and study-oriented guidance. Entrepreneur, K Sripathi Bhat, exhorted people to solidly support Alva, who has always set an example through transparency, discipline and social service.

Mangaluru taluk president of Krishik Samaj, K Krishnaraja Hegde, Rotary Club president, Srikanth Kamath, representative of Dakhsina Kannada district ex-servicemen's association, Bhagwandas Shetty etc also came in support of Alva and wished that the case of student's death will be solved as per law and warned against rumours being treated as truth by future generations.

Several leaders including Kuldeep M of Chowtara Aramane, leading agriculturist, Dr L C Soans, Leelaksha Karkera, and others took part in the meeting.

Ashwin J Pereira compered the programme, Diwakar Shetty Todar proposed vote of thanks.

Oh, self-proclaimed elites of the society,
Why this stunt to save the name & fame of some Gentle Man?
Instead, why don’t you support poor Kavya’s Parents for the impartial enquiry by Police or CBI?
You all Politicians are opportunists, don’t really bother if this happens to your own family member. Shame on you. Hell is the right place for you.
And it is interesting to read, Dr. A is leading 26,000 students to a bright future….
Was Kavya not one of those students seeking a bright future?
Dr. Gentle Man, society has given you this status. Such days will be numbered if the current behavior continues.
Public won’t come out for your rescue another time

No one blame Dr Alva personally, but this incident happened in his premise,so he has to take moral responsibility of fare justice to deceased little girl.
there is no meaning to arrange any rally in favor of Dr Alva,
He should support Kavyas parents and mass public in this movement for justice.or else it damages his personality for sure.

5000 people supporting Alva for what? Who will support the parent of the child who was killed in the college. People has some compassion and fear of god. Child has died and people protest and show support for ALVA. Alva should show support to Kavya parent during this hour. Rather he plays a game to protect his own butt. Shame on him who runs a college and has no courtesy to apologize openly in public for what happend in his college. No one says he killed the girl but the girl has dead in his College which is investigated and provide full proof of what has happend. Alva should cooperate and get full details of the death in order to gain confidence of public. Soon he will lose all students due to such bad publicity. Then he has to turn his college into a resort for the tourist.

The investigation will tell us how Kavya died. Anyway people have started playing politics over her death.
Let us assume it is a case of suicide for the sake of argument. What is alarming is the rate of suicide among students in the twin district. No one has tried to go to the root cause of this. The state govt has done nothing on this and we, the members of the society are equally responsible for not highlighting this issue.

No one commit suicide without any reason that too at the age of 16, 18 etc.
No case of abetment of suicide has been filed against anyone as there was no one to fight for these children.

Poor girl Kavya died in mysteries circumstances....her parents want to know what happened to her...instead of helping poor parents to know what actually happened to their daughter... these guys want to make a show of strength by assembling 5000 people...I don't understand this...

What these guys want to prove here? They can assemble 5000 people??...Stop this non-sense instead use your resources in helping shed light on Kavya's death...

Why this drama of massive rally in support of Mohan Alva. If someone is guilty, he or she is guilty. If not guilty, he or she is not guilty. It is as simple as that. Show of support, or majority/minority does not overturn the truth or the fact. Stature and standing of a person is not the ground to decide whether he is guilty or not. What a shame, people are arranging rally?

    1. Firstly It is very sad that we have lost an innocent kid
    2. When such incidents happen parents will be in utmost shock and the out-buster from her parents is natural and acceptable
    3. Demand for fair inquiry from all community is acceptable and welcomed

    BUT

    4. Few vested interests have come into picture just to settle scores or enmity with Dr Mohan Alva that is not right
    5. CID or CBI enquiry must be done to clear all doubts of general public
    6. People who opposed Mohan Alva when he did good job previously are in front row pointing at him
    7. Mohan Alva gave 500-800 free seats for talented sportsmen from everywhere irrespective of caste and religion, such a person is made scapegoat even before an enquiry is done that is wrong
    8. Mohan Alva should ask these people not to do rally in favor of him which is unnecessary and not required
    9. Finally people should not belive in rumours and stories but wait till the authorities give thier final report

Mr.Alva should confess before Kavya's Parents for failure of his institution for lack of counselling personnel for such suicides. institution's respect wont be damaged if confessed before the parents for the failure of system. Massive rally for what? defending suicide of Kavya? simply allow police to investigate your coach. S W officers, wardens who are directly involved in every year innocent death of students, becuase of tension at hostel & responsibility towarsds parents wishes to get higher performance in college.

    In my opinion:

    The evidence is Truth.

Truth cannot be hidden under the Bushel.

These rally's for support of innocent Kavya who had committed suicide. Suicide is not the option. Face life with your father and mother.

God says in the Chapter of Isaiah 54:4

Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

The youth should forget and take out fear from their mind. Live righteously and supposedly you have committed shame thing God says He will not remember your youth days.

IN CASE THE INSTITUTION IS HAVING TRUTH AND THAT IS THE TRUTH WHY WASTE MONEY IN RALLY'S. OFFER THIS RALLY MONEY TO KAVYA'S FATHER AND MOTHER.

ONE TRUTH IS A TRUTH FOR EVER.

ONE LIE IS A LIE FOR EVER AND TO COVER SUCH LIES YOU HAVE TO UTTER MILLIONS OF LIES AND MONEY TO COVER THE TRUTH TO MAKE A LIE.

According to me there is no fault of Dr.Mohan Alva. This case pertains to his Instituition. I read in news papers that Kavya had made suicide by using a saree. She bolted the door from inside. When hostelmates tried to open the door they couldn't. Now all say including her parents that somebody had done something to her. If somebody killed and hanged her then how can the culprit close the door. Its a very suspense case which Police have to find out the reason at the earliest.

if you have doubt how the door was bolted from inside..... then tell me how the girl went inside without breaking the door bought the body down from hanging , and the opened the door for other hostel mate.. why cant it be vise versa . that the murderer hanged her and locked the door . and came out the same way how the girl entered the locked room.

No doubt Mr Alva is not responsible for the death of the student, but blame may fall on him if he does not co operate for a free and fair probe. in which his staff may be responsible. After spending a short period in Mr. Alva's institution she committed suicide and we do not know the exact reason, it may be as widely speculated training staff, or may be some others responsible or may be purely her personal problem like home sickness or any other. But to find out the exac539t reason a free and fair investigation by honest officers in required.

As long as people are there to be sold, these powerful people will always have their way. I too believe the judgment has already been prepared. Nobody is bothered about poor Kavya and her parents. There will be no enquiry and even if there is one, that will only be an eye wash. The poor people just can't do anything in this set up. It is dominated by those who have money and muscle power. Principles, ethics, values are a thing of the past. I have lost all hopes that justice will be delivered.

What is the purpose of holding this rally ?
Is it to cover/ shield something ?
Is rally going prove that person is not guilty or the court.
Lallu Prasad Yadav is also going hold a rally to prove that he is innocent.
DK Shiva Kumar also may hold rally to prove that he is innocent.
Rally will be massive. There will be at least 30000 people are going to participate. Twenty five thousand students plus another 5000 people may attend out of curiosity. This is nothing but show of money/strength/popularity.
But these things will not wash away the sins.
No one bothered about Kavy's poor family.
Clean chit for the Institute has already been prepared.

Application of cool mind suggests that death of Kavya is suicide. Unfortunately, a young girl, who was sports person too, should not have taken such desperate step. Such kind of devastating happenings have taken place in many reputed educational institutions like NDA, IIT’s, Universities, Colleges. If we look into the cause it is nothing else than pressure of academic performance which people at helm expect and students can’t cope up. But to succeed in today and tomorrows competitive world one should get accustomed to it by confronting and conquering hardships. One should strengthen and equip himself/herself to face challenges in life. When someone succumbs to such pressure linking it to the head of institution as cause is “CRIMINAL”.
We know today in twin Districts there are lot of jobless people who don’t see things objectively but exploit the situation for self aggrandizement which does not bode well for the society. I pray lord to grant strength to Mr Mohandas Alva to withstand the vilification campaign by jobless.

The suicides at Institute are no surprise and people of Mooodbidri should not help the institute to cover up the alleged crime and instead demand for fair investigation.

I have a question to parents of Kavya and the people who are alleging foul play. They should have shifted her body to a hospital in Mangalore and should have done a second post mortem. The cruicial evidence might have got lost now and alleged criminals can walk away easily which is not in the interest of the public at large.

Politicians are with Dr Alva so there is no need to worry. Poor never get justice. Only Kavya know what happened to her, her parents are in deep pain and rest of the Community busy in conspiracy. Police already completed Investigation and may have destroyed the evidence. Dr Alva's college will get clean chit by court without doubt and now they are just busy to win back the people trust. They will never agree even if there is a fault from them and they don't care for kavya's death because she isn't Dr. Alvas daughter. Some days later people forget and everything become same. Did we get justice for Sowjanya. Both BJP & Congress were ruling state and Central. These doctors are great responsible personalities of the Society.
