Ballari, Aug 6: Three children with special needs were reunited with their parents thanks to Aadhar card.

Boina Kalyan, Athishim and Madhav were handed over to their parents in the presence of the officials from child welfare committee and child welfare department here on Saturday, August 5.

The three lived in a children's home here as their parents could not be traced for some years. When the officials in the children's home went to get Aadhar card for the children, they learned that Aadhar cards had already been obtained in their names. Further enquires revealed that these three Aadhar cards were obtained in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The officials later found out that the parents of Boina Kalyan lived in Gudiwada in Krishna district and parents of Athishim lived in Palamanir in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh and relatives of Madhav lived in Kochitra in Nizamabad district in Telangana. All these family members were informed. It was a happy reunion for the families who came to take their lost children back. Madhav is an orphan and his uncle came to take him.

All these three children went missing from their homes at different times and were spotted by the child welfare department and were accommodated in the children's home.

Athishim had been missing for the past five years and his father Mohammed Ikran had spent Rs 1.5 lac to locate him in vain.

The government has made it mandatory for children's homes to have Aadhar cards made for their inmates.
