Mangaluru, Aug 7: Leaders of various organizations led by Samskara Bharathi on Monday August 7 expressed strong support to Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, who has been facing flak from certain quarters relating to the death of SSLC student Kavya in a hostel room of his school at Moodbidri recently.

The organizations announced that they would hold 'Alavarondige Naavu' (We are with Alva) public meeting at 5.30 pm on Thursday August 10 at Town Hall, to openly stand in support of Dr Mohan Alva.

Addressing a press meet here, Purushotam Bhandary, secretary of Samskara Bharathi said, "From past couple of months social media is active with regard to Kavya suicide case, which should not have happened. False allegations and abusive comments are pouring in on social media in a bid to defame Dr Mohan Alva and his institution. We demand transparent investigation and the accused should be put behind bars.

"Dr Mohan Alva has given full-fledged support to the promotion of art and culture by providing platforms for various artists. Mohan Alva has even agreed to cooperate with any probe that takes place with regard to Kavya suicide case. He is deeply hurt with the false allegations, and as a moral support to him, we are organizing 'Alavarondige Naavu' in which several athletes, writers, yoga trainers and artistes of various organizations will take part. Nearly 1,000 people are expected to take part. We have not invited any political leaders to this meet.

Organizations such as Samskara Bharathi, Karnataka Karavali Nruthya Kala Parishath, Sangeetha Bharathi Foundation, Sangeetha Parishat, Manikrishna Swami Academy, Karavali Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkuta, Tulu Nataka Kalavidara Okkuta, Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi, Yakshagana organisation, Mangala Magic Circle, DK District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Kreeda Bharathi, Sports Promoters Club, DK District Amateur Kabbaddi Association, Jai Hind Swimming Club, DK District Amateur Athletic Association, Mangala Athlete Club, Mohithath Karnataka Association and Mangaluru Skating Club will take part in this meet.

In a press note, Chandrashekar K Shetty, representing Samkara Bharathi, stated that visual media and social websites have been floating rumours and unsubstantiated matter aimed at character assassination of Dr Mohan Alva personally and also the educational institution run by him. He condemned the fake news appearing in these sites, and demanded for transparent investigation into the events leading to the death of student, Kavya.

Chandrashekar Shetty, Pramod, Sudhakar Rao Pejawar, Ganesh Somayaji and others were present.

I am sorry to say but people have lost the ability to think rationally.

What we are witnessing is an emotional response to the suicide committed by a girl.

I want to recall another highly publicised case where false accusations were thrown at a very well respected person of DK. What happened???

Nothing to say further, law and order is such in India, nothing good can be expected. The case is going to be bad to worse. I am sorry for the parents and relatives of Kavya. Only God has to help them out.

This is indeed a tragic case. Everything should be done to prevent such incidents in future. Please leave it to the police......Hyper activism in our place is really a matter of concern. Public meet- what is the necessity. Mr. Alva should demonstrate more sympathy towards the parents rather than trying to save the reputation of his institution. The death may not have been caused by a third party but the parents have lost their child.

We do not know what really happened, all the information and footage shows that that she played in the morning and after noon came back to her room, if something was wrong before that it might have come to light or she might have informed to her parents or friends or others. Now her death had happened in the room in the evening. After that we do not know. Anyway, if students are average parents should not put too much pressure on them for marks, it may happen that a low scoring person may be more successful in life than others.

Organizations express support to Mohan Alva,
Members of these organisations have not lost a sister or a daughter.
Parents from a poor family lost a loving daughter under mysterious circumstances.
DC should ban all these nonsense 'support drama'
It is a shame and against humanity to express support to an individual, not concerned about Kavya's parents.
The life of the girl is more valid than the fame/reputation/name of any individual or organization.

Today if this incident happened in any other religion (Christian/Muslim)then these chaddi people would have given fire!!where are they today? For them cow is more important than kavya!!We will all die one day. That is sure. And death may come to any one in any form anytime anywhere it is already set by god. In this case also death dragged or pulled kavya to moodbidri from Kateel.the psalms chapter 136 clearly mentions our days from mother s womb till death all are recorded in gods book.that means it is already set the death and birth in gods book.no doctors/physician on this earth can give you one day also more to live. How when and where you must die already decided when we were in mothers womb.in Hindu religion also they believe the life history of a person written by brahma!!
In this sri Rama s land we are fighting for ram mandir but me and you are we really walking on the path of Rama. ? Shame for me and you. Rama fought for evil. But are we fighting for justice for kavyas parents?
Kavyas parents asking not anything much
    They ask the track suit
The video footage from beginning till end
    Post-mortem video
    Her personal diary
    The owner of the saree
If they get all this their doubts will be cleared

Very sad to see everybody rallying behind a public figure but nobody there with a poor child who lost her life. Everybody demanding for fair probe and want to know the reason behind her death. But Dr. Alva declaring it as suicide without any enquiry. That's why some questions arising in people's mind. Any way truth will come out one day.

One of the Kannada new paper published that for the last 10 years, there are 10 teen deaths in Alva's Institute. Out of these 10 deaths 7 are hanged and remaining 3 are different type of deaths.
I too support Mr. Mohan Alva but seriously all probes to be re-looked into.
