Udupi: Rowdy sheeter, accused in two murder cases & five thefts, arrested under Goonda Act

Udupi, Aug 8: The Hiriadka police on Tuesday August 8 arrested a rowdy-sheeter under the Goonda Act.

The arrested man, identified as Diwakar Achari, is a resident of Kudi village in Hiriadka.

A notorious criminal, Diwakar is an accused in two murders, one attempt-to-murder case and five thefts.

Of the two murder cases, one relates to that of Sheik Mohammed Tasneem, a resident of Kemmannu, who was found dead in a car at Ontibettu in July 2016.

Udupi deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis issued an order to arrest him under Goonda Act on the basis of a report by Udupi district superintendent of police K T Balakrishna.

    This cleaning up exercise should happen every where.
    Those with multiple offences and habitual offenders should not be released on bail. Instead they have to be behind bars at their own cost and not at tax payers cost.
    These people have to work inside the jail and earn for their cost of living in jail.

    Rowdy Sheeter who is accused to two murders and wanted for attempted murder and theft is roaming free on our streets. What is happening to judiciary? Why people like him are let out to harm other people.

    Now Achari's wife will file a case in High Court stating her husband is a 'Social Worker' and police kidnapped him....making DC/SP/State of Karnataka by its Chief Secretary as respondents...asking for urgent hearing....and Immediate release...

    He looks "PAKKA ROWDY SHEETER" Why arrested? Should have been encountered and closed the chapter. Arresting these people is just like "ink waste, paper waste and precious time waste".
