Mangaluru: Organizations rally behind Mohan Alva; Hindu Mahasabha activists taken into custody

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Cultural, literary and sports organizations which came together at a programme held at Town Hall here on Thursday August 10 unequivocally came in support of chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, M Mohan Alva. At the same time, they insisted that an in-depth investigation has to be conducted into the unnatural death of student, Kavya, and truth has to be revealed. Till then, the organizations felt it would be grossly improper to indulge in unsubstantiated character assassination of a person of Dr M Mohan Alva's stature and caliber.

This was the united opinion that emerged at a programme, 'Alvarondige Naavu' organized at Town Hall with the coming together of various cultural, literary and sports organizations from undivided Dakshina Kannada district.

Well-known Yakshagana critic, Dr Prabhakar Joshi, said that Alva has not authored any book, but he himself is a book and happens to be an icon for whom the whole country should be proud of. Joshi said that the achievements of this great personality will not be dented by malicious propaganda indulged in by some people who get happiness out of creating trouble for others. He called for condemning this attack on cultural world and that everyone wants ultimate truth to come out.

General secretary of Karavali Nirtya Kala Parishat, Chandrashekhar Navada, noted that Alva spends about Rs 12 crore for cultural field alone every year and a large number of students with stellar achievements in cultural and sports fields are getting free education in Alva's institutions. A Sadanand Shetty, chairman of Shree Devi Education Trust, expressed confidence that the people who are passing derogatory remarks against Alva now will repent for their hasty actions soon.

At the programme, international high jumper, Sahana Kumar, said that Alva is the only person who encourages people with excellent achievement with personal reward of Rs 25,000. She hailed Alva as a person with a rich heart who helps everyone in spite of their native place and district. She said she is indebted to him and expressed regret for the wrong propaganda going against Alva.

Former minister, B Nagaraj Shetty, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president, S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, leaders of organizations like Chandrashekhar Shetty, Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla, Swarna Sundar, Purushotham Poojary, Dinesh Kundar, Shashiraj Kavoor, Kishore D Shetty, Ashok Shetty, Ramachandar Bykappady, M R Vasudeva, Shashidhar Shetty, Nityanand Rao, Vasant Shetty, Raviraj Shetty, and Vijayalaxmi were present.

Meanwhile, five activists of Hindu Mahasabha, who had arrived at the venue to hold protest against the programme, were taken into custody by the police at the gate of the Town Hall. Four activists managed to escape. The activists led by Rajesh Putran sporting black bands around their arms and flags in their hands, were raising slogans when they were taken into custody.

What is happening in my dear MANGALORE. They changed the city name as Mangaluru. Communities are fighting for a road in a place that has a IDGAH, Reputed COLLEGE and a BANK . Killings /murders are going on now and then. But now what is happening is worrisome Hindus vs Hindus is this regarding a hierarchy/caste system. Is this a drama to bring BJP to power in Karnataka.

It's not a matter of free education, it's a matter of death. Why all this drama. Why he is trying to dump the case. Let truth come out. He should support. And to all those supporters of Alva kindly support to justice first. Don't create politics here please.

Kavya dead or alive reached ICU at 7.45 PM.
She was declared dead within few minutes.
At 8.05PM body was shifted to Mortuary .
No where in the history body was shifted to Mortuary within 15-20 minutes after the death.
How can the Doctors certify death in 15 minutes.
There were no cops seen at the TV footage when body was transferred to Mortuary.
What time the Police arrived ?
In the fake TV footage there were no crowd / friends/Senior staff member .
Mortuary belongs to the government, only Police can transfer the body after Medical officer certifies the death with a certificate.
Who took the decision to transfer the body to Mortuary so quickly.
Dr Alva was not seen anywhere in the TV footage.
Entire TV footage was fake no sensible person will ever believe.
To justify one lie one has to tell 1000 lies.

Dear Dr Prabhakar Joshi, suppose same incident had happened to your daughter in same institution what you would have done? you have no right to speak against the culprits. Its not your Yakshagana Thalamaddale. only parents face the torture after losing their children. Since Alvas has watered your talent that does not mean that you can address the gathering in this way. You were not there on that particular day in Alvas when all tragedy took place. before supporting some one you must be the eye witness or else better need to shut the mouth.

    Sorry to say.
Who ever are on the stage are the sympathizers of Alva's and beneficiary at some stage.
They have to talk giving credit to Alva because they are self blind folded against truth.

My statement is Dr. Alva is good. Without question he has brought lot of laurels to Karnataka. Those who are in stage they Praise him just as I did. This is the past story.

But in this Kavya's case, Alva Management has not come straight forward and Kavya's mother taking Alva's fame back to burner. It is not her fault but it is the fault of Alva's false defense against Kavy's death and these people plus some political, influential chelas who are defending this crime, our society feels. But I feel higher investigation with the help of our diligent police will surely break open the hard nuts and give rest to Kavya's departed soul and to her parents. Without this there is no deliverance to Alva's Management.

I support Alva's as I was once Alva's student. It is the institution which gives important to education as well as extra curricular activities. He personally encourages everyone and I have never seen anyone blaming this reputed institution so far. I feel pity for what is happening now. Moodbidri has improved a lot just because of this institution and Dr Mohan Alva. We shouldn't forget 1000 good things what he had done in the field of education, culture and sports for one mistake of others. Please stop Judging him and his institution without knowing what really happened was.
Partial hanging is the hanging where your feet touches the ground or underlying objects, here weight if the head is enough to cause the death. But common people mistake it with homicidal suicide. If it's homicidal there would be marks of violence.

Prima-facia it is a suicide case.

    My only one question is:

Why the school's management had shifted Kava's body to hospital without first calling the police and first police inspect suicide on the spot.

Suppose it's an accident anybody can shift the accident person to hospital.

Since it is a suicide, Here the management has committed gross errors/ violated the rules.

The so called educated people should be on the road and protesting not sitting in the town hall and enjoying time. This is only a eye wash, the protesting five activists of Hindu Mahasabha another bigger eyewash. Cannot believe that only five from the Hindu Mahasabha with a Billion population. The educated people should try to get to the truth than going on fake rally.

The whole event is nothing but image correction from the powerful educational elite linked to political party.
The soul of 'Kavya' can only rest to peace if her mother's questions are answered and culprit send to gallows.
The death is natural or unnatural the parents are not going to get the loved back. But at least they can get sigh of relief if their daughter gets justice.
In this case 'Kavya' will another 'Sowjanya' will remain mystery forever. Surprisingly none of the BJP Mahila morcha are seen protesting for students unnatural death who are actively seen supporting for 'triple talaq' issue.

I don't think anybody is blaming Dr Alva directly, but so many unnatural deaths of girl students in the past and the one at present, definitely points at some lapse which needs to be interrogated seriously and the strong reasons behind these deaths should be made public! Closing everything as a case of suicide and covering the reason behind or the person responsible is totally wrong on the part of the Management!

It is sad that no one cares for Kavya's death.
It is sad that no one bothered about Kavyas parents.
All these people wanted a clean chit for the crime.
Kavya is no more in this world to reveal the truth.
Speaking ill about a dead person to please someone is a cruel act.
Asking for justice cannot be treated as character assassination.

People who have little sense will never say this as a MURDER after seeing son many CCTV footage which clearly shows its a SUICIDE case. If it was a murder there should be at lease a single struggling marks on Kavya's body. Today her photo after committing SUICIDE is been viral in social media. Even after seen that photo there is only SUICIDE mark on her neck the face and hands are totally clean. How can a murder happen without a single struggling mark on her body. Media, people and associations who are protesting against ALVA's Institution and the PT teacher do not have any institution do not have a single proper evidence that this is a MURDER. These are the people who are playing with the sorrow of a Mother.
