Bengaluru: H D Kumaraswamy unwell, admitted to hospital in Singapore

Bengaluru, Aug 11: Former Chief Minister and State JD(S) Chief H D Kumaraswamy is believed to have been admitted to a Singapore hospital.

According to party sources, the JD(S) leader was suffering from a bout of repeated and yet severe cough.

He is believed to have been admitted to the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

Kumaraswamy, who has been busy campaigning for his party, had reportedly checked himself into a health centre in Ujire, Dharmastala, in Dakshina Kannada district recently for treatment.

However, as there was no improvement in his condition, Kumaraswamy reportedly left for Singapore on Thursday.

According to reports, Kumaswamy's relative K S Rangappa is also with the former Chief Minister.

    People ask here why politicians go outside for treatment. Today, 30 children died in a large govt hospital in UP due to no oxygen. The contractor who supplies oxygen, stopped supplying, after giving due notice to govt, since govt did not pay the dues running about Rs. 60 lakhs, as per report. There are very good pvt hospitals like Fortis, Apollo, Jaslok. Holy Family, but when one has easy money, he prefers outside.

    We do not know the nature of his sickness, however it has become a fashion for rich and super rich people to go outside for medical treatment when other countries people come to India for better and cost effective treatment!!!. Whatever we wish speedy recovery

    Govt. hospitals are training grounds for private hospitals like KMC students getting training at Wenlock hospital in Mangalore. Will anyone ready to take risk other than hapless poor at the hands of these trainees ?

    When there are good hospitals, good doctors, high-tech medical facilities in India, our politicians and sportsperson travel outside India for medical treatment...what a shame...!!!

    Problem is India is reservation and no security for doctors.
    Most of the top doctor prefer outside since they won't get a good college coz of reservations and no security.
    Reservation up to mbbs is fine. After MBBS whole India has same syllabus and everyone ll b equal. India hardly 12k clinical pg seats r available out of which 6k from govt college. Out of 6k 3k is reserved for reservation. So general merit ppl obviously chooses the other path like going abroad where there is no reservation.
    Every year 50k mbbs graduates are coming out.
