Johannesburg, Jun 14: The Discalced Carmelites (OCD), belonging to the Karnataka-Goa province of India, based in Johannesburg, South Africa celebrated the tenth anniversary of their foundation in South Africa on June 8, 2008.
The concelebrated Solemn mass was presided by Fr John Fynlsen, the Vicar General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Johannesburg. Fr Archibald Gonsalves OCD, provincial superior of Karnataka-Goa Province preached the homily.
The Holy Eucharist was followed by facilitation programe. During the function Fr Archie facilitated the persons responsible for the growth of the foundation. Fr David, the parish priest and Sr Theresa of Benoni Carmel addressed the gathering. Fr Marie Joe OCD, the local superior proposed vote of thanks and Fr Joachim Rodrigues OCD compered the whole programme.
Local Indian community also gathered for witness the programme.
