Mangaluru: Vajradehi Swamiji confirms as BJP candidate in next assembly election

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP)

Mangaluru, Nov 3: Putting a full stop to rumours, Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math has confirmed that he will be contesting in the next assembly election for BJP.

Earlier Daijiworld had reported that BJP was considering the prospects of fielding a religious leader from coastal districts in the coming assembly election after taking a leaf out of Yogi Adiyanath's popularity in Uttar Pradesh as chief minister. The first choice for this was Vajradehi Swamiji.

Swamiji had said that he and the Math are not averse to the idea.

Speaking exclusively to Daijiworld on Friday October 3, Swamiji said that he is indeed going to be the candidate for BJP from coastal Karnataka and he will choose the constituency later.

He said he is ready to serve political sector and he feels that Hindutva cause has been ignored in the state and he should do something for the cause.

It is said that during a recent survey got done by BJP to identify candidates with winning prospects through a private agency, the name of Vajradehi Swamiji had cropped up. Based on this survey, BJP party leaders had met him.

Vajradehi Swamiji should contest from Puttur Assembly constituency. If he does so he will defeat Shakuntala shetty by minimum 20000+ votes. There huge anger against Congress for neglecting sentiments of Hindus & also against murder of Hindu youths in district. Vajradehi Swami ji will win with very ease from Puttur. He will get almost all Hindu votes just because Hindus want to take revenge against Congress by voting them out for not taking strict action against Islamist forces. Swami ji will polarize Hindus across caste lines & it is also need of hour. Coastal Karnataka need such staunch Hindu as representative for better Hindu samaj. As a 25 year youth my vote will go to BJP no matter who candidate is only because of Congress neglecting Hindus and want to teach congress a lesson.

This swami is a Bunt just wearing Kavi dress, but he is not a Swami in real sense. His name is Nonayya Shetty. Just like any other ordinary Sanghi he also spits venom at Minorities.
While all other Bunts speak ordinary Tulu, this Vajru Swami speaks Brahmin-Tulu to show as if he is a Brahmin and not a Shoodra. When this man is not loyal to his own mother-tongue how can he be loyal to his electorate of his constituency, if elected?

Mr. K R Prabhu, do you know how Modi inherited his surname Modi ? He was working with a Parsi Film producer called Sohrab Modi & Keki Modi. Sohrab Modi produced 26 famous films one them was a classic named Yahoodi in 1950s with Dilip Kumar and Meenakumari in lead roles. There was another Parsi with the Surname Modi, that was Rustomji Modi, who played for India's Test Cricket side between 1946 to 1952. ( for details of film maker Sohrab Modi, the Dada Saheb Falke award Winner and also Rustomji Modi the Test cricketer, you can refer Googles -wiki on Parsi community).
I had to say above thing sarcastically because South Indians do not know that Parsis have Surnames similar to Hindus of Gujarat. For example Surnames like Sha ( General Manik Sha), Patel (Cricketer Rusi Patel), Surti (criketer Rusi Surti ), Mehta (Dinshaw Mehta- Freedom fighter), Gandhi ( Indira's husband Feroz Gandhi). Desai ( Homiyar Desai - Industrialist) , Shah (Bhaktiyar Shah Industrialist) . I know all this about Parsi comminity because I have worked in the Nationalized Bank which was originally promoted by Parsis namely Central Bank of India. when I joined that Bank in Mumbai there were more than 3000 Parsi employees, many of them had Gujarati Hindu surnames. So please stop spreading canards about the Gandhi Surname of Indira Gandhi and family.

I respect your opinion but do not agree with it. A politicians job is 24x7. If all priests join politics, they will be corrupted. We will eventually find money stored in gunny bags and pillow overs and beds. This will also lead to enforcement of a particular religious value (like non beef consumption or ban on non vegetarian food or alcohol) to please a particular section of the society.

All Swamijis, Priests/ Bishops and Mullas to be kept away from politics. These people supposed to pray in their respective holy places, look after these places and protect those from all evils through their prayers. They must pray at least 12 to 18 hours in a day for the welfare of the people. They are the selected / chosen people to establish a connection between common people and God. They should not be allowed to enter the politics. These people enter politics just to earn money and enjoy the comports of life.

BJP is just crazy about its victory. ...By projecting Gujarat ,it bagged votes by last elections. This time projecting UP is not so easy. Karnataka is always better than UP in development works, except some nonsense workouts like bhagyas and jayanthis. BJP's calculations for victory by projecting Swamijis is a desperate attempt , creating Hindu sentiment. Ratayathre, padukayathre, brick yathre. ..now a new plan. ....!

It will be a very sad day for the state in case the swami wins. I am not against any swami or any religious head. Their job is to look after the religious aspects of the mosques, temples or churches. They should not get into politics, which should be left to the politicians. Come to think of it, what administrative acumen do such people possess? Just pick up someone with the sole intention of winning the elections? I call such an act anti-national. The BJP is not worried about the progress of the state. It just wants to win by hook or by crook. An extremely deplorable decision to field religious heads. The educated people of this district should not support such an act. We want development and peace. There is a danger that this region would slip into further communal turbulence with the BJP's mind set.

UP is already finished due to Yogi's fanatic rule and we don't want Mangalore to be next!
It is better religious leaders confine themselves to religion than interfere with politics in the best interest of all concerned. They can do lot of social service even without entering politics.
