Mangaluru: CM to inaugurate national level Karate championship in city on Nov 4

Mangaluru Nov 3: “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be inaugurating the national level open karate championship on November 4 at Nehru Maidan in city,” said Mayor Kavitha Sanil.

Addressing media here on Friday November 3, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, said, "District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, PWD minister H C Mahadevappa, minister for fisheries Pramod Madhwaraj, minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Moideen Bava, chief whip of legislative council Ivan D'Souza and others will grace the occasion. During the valedictory function minister for energy D K Shivakumar will be the chief guest,” Sanil informed.

 

“More than 1000 participants from 12 different states will take part in the tournament. Total number of 108 events in different age categories from 20 kg category to 65 age category for both male and female will be conducted for different coloured belts. Black belt competitions will be held on November 5. Four rings have been set up for the competition and will go on till 9 pm.” she added.

“Along with this tournament All India grand championship will be held on November 5. Technical adviser from Malaysia will be arriving for the competition,” she concluded.

Chairman of Shree Devi Education Trust Sadananda Shetty, Manish Acharya, Surendra B and Suresh Shetty were also present.
