Udupi: BJP Workers Try to Disrupt Congress Dharna

The Hindu

Udupi, Jun 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers tried to disrupt a dharna staged by the Congress at Brahmavar near here on Friday, seeking an inquiry by the CBI into the death of Udupi MLA K. Raghupati Bhat’s wife Padmapriya Bhat.

The BJP workers went to the spot where the Congress workers were staging a dharna and waved black flags. They raised slogans against Congress leader Pramod Madhwaraj and the party. The BJP workers alleged that the Congress was politicising the issue.

The police intervened and brought the situation under control.

Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj said that the BJP’s attempt to disrupt the dharna by the Congress showed the “culture of intolerance” of that party.
