Udupi: ‘Grahakara Vijaya’ an Innovative Yakshagana CD Released in City

Udupi, Jun 29: ‘Grahakara Vijaya’ an innovative yakshagana CD educating the customers on their rights, was released by state home minister Dr V S Acharya, on Saturday June 28 evening, during the function organized by ‘Consumers Forum – Udupi’ at Kathyayini auditorium, located at Kadiyali.

Dr Acharya after releasing the CD said that he would take up the distribution of this CD to ‘consumers club’ in all 650 schools across the state at the cost of government.  Moreover, discussions will be held with union government to incorporate separate ‘consumer’ department in the state, since it functions jointly with food and civil supplies in the nation. 64 lac families were issued with BPL cards in the past.  Besides, out of 12 lac applications to issue BPL cards received already; 4 lacs are in the process of issue while the rest of 8 lac will be issued shortly.

Food and civil supplies joint director K Ramesh, was the chief guest of the occasion, honoured Ambatanaya Mudrady, yakshagana Bhagawat who rendered his voice to ‘Grahakara Vijaya’ CD,  Suresh Upadhyaya, yakshagana trainer of ‘consumer clubs’ across the city.

Kadiyali Mahishamardini temple managing trustee Anantram Upadhyaya, Udupi DDPI K Anand, Consumers Forum convener Damodar Aithal, A P Kodantha, Shantharaj Aithal were present at the occasion.
