Udupi: Atul Rao Renmanded to Judicial Custody till Jul 9

Mangalore, Jun 30: Atul Rao, accused in the Padmapriya case, who was remanded to police custody till June 30, has on June 29, been remanded to judicial custody till July 9.

The police were expected to produce Atul Rao in the court on June 30. But, in view of security concerns, the policemen chose to produce him before the Udupi Senior Civil Judge and Chief Judicial Magistrate A M Ramachandraiah at his residence.

The policemen say, that they have come across the involvement of others in the incident and that investigators have now been concentrating on this aspect. Manipal Inspector of Police B G Achar has informed, that the police is yet to receive the post mortem report on Padmapriya's death.

    Post mortem report still not received?. It is a mystery and now a million dollar question. Is the delay deliberate or forced out of circumstances?? Daiji, pls enlighten your readers.
