Udupi: Raghupati Bhat to Establish Trust in Padmapriya's Name

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jun 30: Speaking at a public meeting conducted at the Ajarkad Town Hall in the town on Sunday June 29, MLA K Raghupathi Bhat alleged that several unseen hands had ganged up against him in addition to his childhood friend Atul Rao, to eliminate his family in its entirety. The death of Padmapriya was a result of their conspiracy, he suspected. While demanding for a thorough investigation into circumstances leading to the death of his dear wife, Bhat expressed total faith in the ability of the state police force in unearthing this caucus of culprits.

The meeting was organized to pay tributes to Bhat's wife Padmapriya. "I will involve with politics from tomorrow onwards and get into social service with renewed vigour. Towards this end, I will set up a Trust in the name of Padmapriya and my father, which will be totally dedicated to social service. For running the trust, I will plough a portion of my income from the businesses I own. Even though my interest in politics is on the wane, my well-wishers have advised me to continue in politics at least for the next five years in order not to belie the faith reposed by my voters," he explained.

The media has sensationalized the issue of my wife's death, a private matter, because I am a politician. I want public cooperation, support and encouragement instead of sympathy. The media and several persons are out to tarnish my image and spread rumours about the character of myself and my wife, he noted, requesting people not to trust them.

Paying glorious tributes to Padmapriya for her valuable contributions for making his second time win possible, he said he is bothered by the guilt that he could not give much attention to his family as he is busy in politics.

State home minister and  district-in-charge Dr V S Acharya assured that the police will do everything in their command to bring out the truth behind Padmapriya's death.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLA Lalaji R Mendon, BJP leaders Somshekhar Bhat, Shanta V Acharya, Sheela K Shetty etc., spoke about their association with Padmapriya and the rich values she stood for. Shyamala Kunder compered the programme.

There is no MEANING in establishing trust in HER name, if Mr Bhat is notwilling to tell TRUTH behind her death. Her death CLEARLY shows that even after having all resourses, and wealth, sufficient chance is not given to her to live in family. When there is no value for women in family it is natural to get aversion towards family members. There is nothing wrong in Padmapriya. When she was alive totally she got neglected by Mr Bhat. now why he is taking interest to establishing trust in her name. OR whether to establish a trust she was made to attain death???

Mr Bhat there is no sense in establishing trust in your wife's name just to show the public as if you are doing something great. I totally disagree with your Trust, when your wife is gone and she is no more, children are without mother will this make you happy and give you Peace of Mind. I don't think so?. Probably temporary relief but not on a long run.
