Kundapur: Woman from Vithalwadi Delivers Baby in Autorickshaw

Kundapur, Jun 30: A pregnant lady gave birth to a baby girl in an autorickshaw in the wee hours on Sunday June 29.

Poornima from Narsibettu of Vittalwadi near here, started having labour pains after midnight, and decided to go to the hospital at about 4 am. She hired an autorickshaw owned by her neighbourer named Vasant for the purpose. Her husband accompanied her in the auto. The vehicle had covered a small distance from her house, when she gave birth to a baby girl.

Both the mother and the child were taken to the hospital later. Both are healthy and safe, said family sources.
