B'lore: Down But Not Out - Defeated BJP Candidates Get Plum Postings

Bangalore, Jul 1: The BJP has started the work of resurrecting the images of its legislators who had been disappointed because of their non-inclusion in the state ministry and also a few who lost in the recent hustings, by offering them plum posts.

Ex IPS officer Subhas Bharani, who was defeated in the recent election, has been appointed as a sepcial representative of the state at New Delhi. Ex-minister G T Deve Gowda who joined the BJP just before the assembly election but lost from Mysore, has been made the president of the Housing Corporation. Ex-MLA Pramila Nesargi has been made the president of the state women's commission.

Mysore MLA Ramdas who was a ministerial aspirant and C C Patil, MLA from Nargund, have been appointed as parliamentary secretaries to the chief minister. Narayanaswami from Anekal, who had vented his anger at not being made a minister, has been offered the presidentship of Slums Clearance Board.

Along with this MLC Ganesh Karnik has been appointed as NRI Coordinator. The parliamentary secretaries will be administered oath of office by the chief minister in the conference hall of Vidhan Soudha on Tuesdsay July 1.
