Bantwal: Van causes death of pedestrian, topples when trying to flee

Bantwal,Dec 23: After a pedestrian walking by the roadside at Mittur on Mani - Mysuru highway was knocked down by a speeding vehicle, he was killed on the spot. The accident happened on Friday December 22.

Balakrishna (33), from Kedila Karimajalu was the ill-fated pedestrian who died in this accident. A Maruti Omni van knocked him down as a result of which he suffered grievous injuries to his head and lost his life on the spot.

The van sped away in an attempt to escape. But it fell by its side of the road near Mittur railway brigde about 500 metres away from the accident spot. People in the van too were injured. They stand admitted into a private hospital at Puttur for treatment.
