Mumbai, Jul 17: A preliminary meeting in connection with the proposed 70th Chaturmasya stay, an annual ritual, by Sri Vishveshateerta Swamji of Pejavar Math, was held here on Sunday July 13 evening, at the Mumbai unit of the Math located at Prabhat Colony, Santacruz (East).
The meeting was presided over by Poornaprajna Education Trust honorary president U Rama Rao. Dr A S Rao, Sitaram Shetty, B R Gurumurthy, Krishna Acharya, B Vivek Shetty, Tonse Jayakrishna A Shetty, Raghavendra Jamadagni, Ramadas Upadhyaya, Tulsi Girish, S R Kalluraya, Vasudev Udupa and others were present on the dais.
Vivek Shetty, speaking at the occasion, said that the blessings of the Swamiji had turned his native Derlakatte near Mangalore, into a hub of knowledge with the setting up of several medical and colleges. Chaturmasya rites which the Swamiji will be undertaking, should be celebrated by all the Mumbaikars, he felt.
Jayakrishna A Shetty, president of Jayasrikrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, urged the community brethren to be wholeheartedly involved with the proceedings of the 70th Chaturmasya programme ofthe Swamiji, who will performing rites praying for global peace and harmony.
The Mumbai unit administrator of the Math Ramdas Upadhyaya compered the programme. U Rama Rao welcomed the gathering. Manager Hari Bhat and Niranjan were also present. Prakash Acharya proposed vote of thanks.
