Kundapur, Jan 29: A resident of Golihole in the taluk, identified as Babu Poojary (45), ended his life on Sunday January 28, by consuming poison.
He had left his home, duly informing his close ones that he would return after visiting the house of his in-laws. However, within a short time thereafter, he was found to be in a precarious condition near the rickshaw stand at Khambadakone village. Although people there arranged to take him to the nearby government hospital immediately, the doctors declared him brought dead.
In a report filed in Byndoor police station, brother of Babu, Madhava, said that his brother was heavily addicted to liquor and that he was also worried over mounting debt. Having been frustrated by these issues, he would have consumed poison, he said in the complaint, on the basis of which a case was registered by the police.
