Mangaluru: 2nd annual sports meet held at A J Institute of Engineering & Technology

Mangaluru, Feb 8: A J Institute of Engineering and Technology hosted its 2nd annual sports meet at its campus on February 3. The day started off with a lovely and highly competitive event march past by the students.

Prashanth Shetty, vice-president of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, inaugurated the sports meet by lighting the torch and in his address he said, “Sports and games are an integral part of human’s life. Students should actively participate in sports activities along with their curriculum.”



Principal Dr Shantharama Rai in his speech advised students to utilize their sportive talent by participating in various events.

Dr Kishore Shetty, chairman sports day committee, Manohar, physical director and HODs were present.

Sethu S Pillai, student of first year, welcomed the gathering, Varsha Shetty of second year compered the programme and Salma rendered the vote of thanks.

The valedictory ceremony was held in the evening.

Madhushree C, department of civil engineering, briefed about the sports meet.

The principal distributed the prizes for march past and relay event winners.
