Dubai, Aug 23: In a bid to improve commuter experience and ease navigation, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Keolis–MHI, has completed a network-wide signage upgrade across all Dubai Metro and Tram stations. The initiative introduces clearer directions, better visibility, and etiquette reminders, aimed at smoother movement, greater clarity, and proper use of passenger zones.

The revamp covers all stations on the Red and Green Metro lines and the Dubai Tram network. Led by RTA’s Rail Agency, the project involved installing and replacing around 9,000 wayfinding signs, requiring approximately 11,000 work hours from technical teams. Key improvements include updated entry and exit signage, new entrance and exit boards, and exit signs highlighted with bright yellow boxes to improve visibility for passengers.

Platform directional indicators and strategically placed floor stickers now guide commuters efficiently, helping reduce congestion, minimise hesitation, and speed up passenger movement. Visual reminders promoting courteous behaviour and personal space have also been added across station waiting areas and platforms.

The upgrade also ensures better protection for Women and Children Cabins and Gold Class Cabins, with large pink and gold boards clearly labelling these areas to prevent unauthorized use and maintain a respectful environment.

The upgraded wayfinding system has been fully integrated with RTA’s communication channels, including train and platform audio announcements, smart mobile apps, and social media, ensuring unified guidance across all touchpoints for passengers.
