Sullia: Nalin ridicules Rai, says Congress leaders waiting to join BJP

Daijiworld Media Network - Sullia (SP)

Sullia, Apr 12: "So far the situation has not been created in which BJP activists or leaders have shown inclination to join Congress. But in a few days, several Congress leaders, frustrated by the party's policies, will be joining BJP," said MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, in retort to minister, Ramanath Rai's statement about BJP leaders joining Congress.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday April 11, Kateel noted that Ramanath Rai has said that several BJP leaders, unhappy with the party, had been in touch with the Congress to change their allegiance. He claimed that in fact, contrary to what Rai has said, several Congress leaders, who are fed up with Congress policies, are waiting to join BJP. "Rai will soon come to know who is leaving which party," he quipped.

When questioned by the media persons about the problems faced by BJP on account of too many aspirants, Nalin pointed out that there was a time when BJP was finding it hard to find suitable candidates for elections. He said that competition for tickets denotes growth of the party over the years. "We are prepared to tackle this problem and see that the party does not face any harm," he claimed.

About the date on which candidates would be announced for remaining constituencies, he felt that the national president of the party might release the list within two to three days.

BJP Bakward Classes Morcha district president, Suresh Kanemaradka, Mandal Samiti president, Venkat Valalambe, general secretary, Subdh Shetty Menala and others were present.
